A Guide to Choosing the Right Women's Health Package

Women's health needs shift significantly across life stages — hormonal panels that matter in your 20s and 30s look very different from the screenings that matter after menopause. Choosing the right package means matching the tests to your age, life stage, and personal risk factors, rather than picking whichever package is cheapest or most popular.

What a Good Women's Health Package Should Cover

  • Hormonal health: Thyroid panel (TSH, FT3, FT4), Estradiol, FSH, LH, and Prolactin — important for cycle irregularities, fertility planning, and menopause transition.
  • Reproductive screening: Cervical/Vaginal Pap Smear and Mammography (USG or digital) for early detection of cervical and breast changes.
  • Bone health: Vitamin D and Calcium — women are significantly more prone to bone density loss, especially post-menopause.
  • Metabolic and cardiac markers: Blood sugar, lipid profile, and ECG — cardiovascular risk in women is frequently under-screened.
  • Anaemia and nutrition markers: CBC, Serum Iron, Folic Acid, and Vitamin B12 — common deficiencies during reproductive years.

Matching a Package to Your Life Stage

Life StagePriority Focus
20s–early 30sThyroid, hormonal balance, anaemia markers, general metabolic health
Mid-30s–40sAdd Pap Smear, Mammography, bone health, cardiac screening
45+ / PerimenopauseHormonal panel (FSH, LH, Estradiol), bone density, cardiac and cancer markers
Post-menopauseCardiac risk, bone health, cancer screening become the top priority
A note on fertility planning: If you're planning a pregnancy, ask your doctor whether an AMH (ovarian reserve) test and a more detailed hormonal panel should be added — these aren't always included in standard packages but can be important for planning.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

  • Does this package include a gynaecology consultation to interpret the results, not just the raw lab report?
  • Are cancer screening markers (CA-125) and imaging (Mammography, Pap Smear) included, or do they need to be added separately?
  • Is fasting required, and are there any cycle-timing considerations for hormonal tests?
