Jaiprakash Hospital, Rourkela, has officially launched its Free Neonatal Ambulance Service, offering free specialised transport for newborns up to 150 kms.

The facility was graciously inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA Shri Durga Charan Tanti.

The event was graced by Guests of Honour Dr D. K. Sethi, Dr Parthasarathi Lall, and Dr Swasthy Kabi Satpathy. Together with the hospital leadership team—Dr. Chandan Bansal (Managing Director), Dr Suchitra Mishra (Medical Superintendent), and Senior Consultant Paediatricians Dr Nishu Bansal and Dr Ravi Kumar—they spoke passionately about the impact of this initiative.

Highlighting the ambulance as an “ICU on wheels,” the speakers emphasised how this service will bridge the critical gap in emergency care for the region’s littlest patients, ensuring that distance is no longer a barrier to survival.

It is a significant step towards saving lives, one timely intervention at a time.
